Many stakeholders participated in the four strategic planning sessions held in Spring 2013 centered around the following Strategic Areas: workforce development, community integration, and move to managed care. These planning sessions were well attended by DMHAS staff and stakeholders, and the feedback that was elicited is being used to generate tasks for a 3-year (January 2014-December 2016) multi-phased Strategic Plan. Tasks in the second phase depend on completion of tasks in the first phase. Some projects are independent of the plan, such as Suicide Prevention and Super Storm Sandy Recovery Initiative; those projects will continue.
The DMHAS Strategic Plan has many priorities in three strategic areas which are being addressed by work teams. The priority areas are:
